Egg-cellent Easter holiday crafts

March 31 2024 By Flip File crafts, flip file ideas

If you're looking for ideas to keep little hands busy these holidays, look no further! As the home of the original Flip File - the ultimate art display and storage file - we've got just the thing for you: Easter bunny paper crafts.

We know every-bunny likes getting their hands (and feet!) messy when it comes to making art, so we've lined up a few egg-citing crafts that are fun and help to preserve those tiny fingers and feet for you to look back on later.

Keep these crafts as keepsakes or use them on Easter cards or for Easter egg hunt invitations.

A handy bunny

You'll need:

  • White and pink washable craft paint
  • Coloured paper or card
  • A black marker
  • A paintbrush

To make:

  • Paint your child's hand with the white paint, except for their thumb.
  • Have your child squeeze their pinky and ring fingers together, and their forefinger and middle finger together to make bunny ears.
  • Push your child's hand down onto the paper or card to make the bunny handprint.
  • Once the paint is completely dry, use the pink paint for the inside of the bunny's ears and the nose. Use the marker to draw on the face and whiskers.

Baby bunny footprints

This craft is ideal to do with babies celebrating their first Easter, or small toddlers.

You'll need:

  • Pink or blue cardboard
  • White cardboard
  • A black marker
  • Pink or blue washable craft paint
  • A paintbrush
  • Glue stick

To make:

  • Paint both your child's feet with the pink or blue paint.
  • Gently push each foot onto the white cardboard (one foot next to the other one). Leave this to dry.
  • Cut out the shapes you need for the bunny body: 1 x oval, 1 x elongated circle and 2 x ears from either the pink or blue cardboard.
  • Cut out 2 x inner ear shapes, 2 x oval eyes and 2 x oval paw pads from the white cardboard
  • Use the glue to stick the bunny together (you can flap the top of the ears over and stick these down if you want floppy ears)
  • Use the black marker to drawn on the bunny face
  • Cut out your child's 2 x printed feet from the white cardboard.
  • Stick the feet onto the bottom of the bunny, and the paw pads onto the feet

Fingerprint bunny and chicks

You'll need:

  • Stamp ink pads in 2 or 3 different colours
  • Coloured paper or cardboard
  • A black marker

To make:

  • Gently push your child's thumb onto one of the stamp ink pads
  • Push the inked thumb onto the coloured paper or card
  • Repeat the process using their other 4 fingers and the other colour ink pads
  • Use the black maker to add faces, ears, beaks and legs

Easter egg potato stamp

You'll need:

  • Craft paint in different colours
  • A paintbrush
  • Potatoes of various sizes
  • A sharp knife
  • White or coloured paper

To make:

  • Cut the potatoes in half
  • Using the knife, cut patterns into the cut-side of the potato
  • Dip the potato into the paint, and push it down hard onto the paper to stamp it.
  • Repeat with the different colour paints and patterns (use the paintbrush to add a second or third colour to the same potato)

When you're all done, store your kids' crafts in their own Flip Files.

Our plastic sleeves are strong enough to safely store your little works of art, and transparent so you can easily see what's inside.

So hop to it, and get crafting!
